Born in Bogota, Colombia, South America.
Majored in Business Administration in Bogota.
Started technology consulting Firm Colexpo (www.colexpo.com) in 1999. Delivered over 150+ projects for over 100 companies in Colombia and other countries; in what I like to call the most hostile business environment ever.
I transitioned to a large management consulting firm, where I could balance a lot of the practical things I had learned with robust concepts, frameworks and methodologies. Still on that path, although I hope to attend an MBA soon.
Currently writing my entrepreneurial and business story in a book called "Our system is down" at www.senoscayoelsistema.com. It is a hilarious recount of third world business stories. Everything from Colombian Alpha Females to Corporate Black Magic. It has recently been nominated for best blog in Colombia at the 2007 CCIT awards.
I have a passion for strategy, ideas, innovation, change and everything that is challenging. I write my ideas at www.ideasareorange.com in english as well to keep track of all random thoughts. I have no doubt that I will turn one of these into another venture in the coming years.
I live in Colombia. I love to travel the world and have worked hard to visit the best places on earth to keep a global perspective. I consider myself a citizen of the world.
Finally, I strongly believe we are here to better ourselves. I find that most people are here to improve their car, house, lifestyle, etc... I chase a spiritual goal, achievement, and a knowledge domain.
I'm a sports guy at heart.
I do everything from golf, , sailing, waterski, and snowboard to rock climbing which has become my favorite in the last few years. I most recently jumped out of a plane!!! Check out my Flickr site for more of that.
I love technology and computers. I speak the (1,0) language. I love web apps, gadgets, computers. I [think] I've made important contributions through technology and want to continue to do so.
I am a family and social guy in every way. After spending many hours inside the office in my entrepreneurial years, I set out to make up for lost time in that area.
I have a huge passion for business books. I buy more than I can read in my spare time, but I try to keep up. I have many favorites. I also love novels - Colombian and Nobel Prize winning author Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Colombian author Dario Jaramillo Agudelo are my favorites.
I love my country, even though it is a tough hostile place. I have had to endure my share of violence and setbacks. But its my home for now.
My current interest is in writing down my ideas and expanding my knowledge of business. I get so many ideas that I have yet to sort the good from the bad, but perhaps with quantity comes quality.
